Well I don’t have a good topic to post about, but I’m posting anyway since it’s been so long. My fellow bloggers have taken all the good topics recently. Boyd pretty much obsessed over the Mavs and Steve Nash during the Suns/Mavs series, so I have nothing much to add. Shawn has had a pretty good mix of Spurs fever, church talk, and marathon training.
As for me, nothing going on in my life has been interesting enough to mention. Among the minutia, I have recently aquired the third volume, yet fourth season of Seinfeld. The show is so hard to find on TV, so I must resort to getting every season on DVD for the sake of preserving the show.
I’m also trying to find a good desktop enhancement for my computer. If some of you are wondering what that is, check out SmartBarXP, which has been what I’ve been using for the past several months. It’s basically an enhanced toolbar that goes on the side of your screen where you can access your favorite programs with one click, your outlook calender, tasks, and email, weather, CPU and RAM stats, and about a ton of other things in one compact space. It’s just nice to have if you feel like your desktop is cluttered and accessing you start menu is a big pain. Now, SmartBar is really cool and you can download it here, but it has a few bugs that are getting to me, so I’m looking for something else. I’ve found SpyderBar, which is similar and very cool, but it lacks the convenient access to my most used programs. Now, I’m also jealous of the new Mac OS Tiger because of the nifty Dashboard feature, which involves enhancing your desktop with widgets, which are individual little programs that show you info like weather, stats, iTunes, and a bunch of other stuff. It’s really cool and I found the Windows equivalent (or as close as you can get to it) called DesktopX. It’s a little more difficult to manipulate than Mac (of course), but it’s essentially the same thing. It does lack one thing…..access to programs! I know this sounds petty, but you have no idea how nice it is to have a small, organized group of icons that you can click on to launch you favorite apps. The start menu is simply unreasonable once you’ve experienced this feature. So what to do…….well, I found the answer and it’s called getStarted, which is simply an invisible bar that goes on the side of your screen that contains the shortcuts to whatever folders or programs you like. Mission accomplished! Except that the SpyderBar doesn’t look good with getStarted, so I would have to use the widgets instead from DesktopX.
Now I know I lost a lot of you a long time ago and I’m suprised your still reading, but that’s what happens when I start to blog with nothing in mind to talk about. If you wanna spiff up your desktop, check this stuff out and if you know of any other cool toys, let me know. Peace out!

Chris, you definitely lost me somewhere among the computer jargon. I did see however, what you are currently brewing. While in Starbucks last week, they had some Coupage del Sol available, but I don’t think I can drink a coffee which is “floral and juicy.” Just sounds contradictory to put that in coffee. How ’bout a coffee review, heh?
I found a most helpful poster describing all of starbucks usual blends as well as a few limited edition blends. The poster explains the background and flavor/aroma (which I call ‘flaroma’). I still haven’t found anything that I like better than Yukon Blend though.
I’m using widgets with konfabulator.
One widget (that unfortunately doesn’t work right now) is a quick composer for blogger. Hopefully it gets fixed ASAP.
As for direct program access, I just put shortcuts on my quick launch bar and moved it to the top so there was more room on the bar itself, and on it are attached my links and desktop shortcut bars.
Walt, I really like the konfabulator! How do you move the quick lanch bar? Doesn’t it have to be on the taskbar?
You can right-click on the quick launch bar and unlock it, then open others like the desktop and links toolbar and put them all together then drag them around. At least, I think that’s how I did it.
Sorry for the delay, I just thought about it today.
