Ok, I’m back from the holiday hiatus with a new look for the new year. Actually, the look will probably change quite a bit because it’s still not exactly what I want right now, but I figured if I waited until this place was perfect, I probably wouldn’t blog until April. So here it is, the new and improved Brewing Thoughts. In reality, it’s not all that different, but there are things that I’m particularly proud of. I tried to create a little more of a streamlined look from the fabulous K2 theme, with lighter colors and textures. The nav bar is now at the top, outside of the header image, which makes it a little easier to navigate (to me). I’ve got a search form at the top of the sidebar, so you can find any entry I’ve done in the past. I’ve also imported all my archives from my first blog, The World As Best I Remember It, so everything can be found in one place. I’ve got a little Flickr badge in my sidebar that will show the most recent photos I’ve posted to my account (which I will try to do more frequently). Oh, and for those of you who are (sadly) still using Internet Explorer, I’ve done my best to make this compatible, but no guarantees. Get Firefox. It’s free.
I’m also sporting WordPress 2.0, which will actually mean hardly anything for you except some nifty icons scattered about (like the RSS feed icons in the sidebar). I’ve added a few new features like Random Posts, which will show up in the sidebar when you read an individual post.
Along with these new nifty features, I’ve added my review of the new coffee I’m trying out on the Now Brewing page. Plus, I’ve added my new music reviews for Derek Webb’s Mockingbird and Delirious?’s The Mission Bell (both are great albums, by the way).
As I said earlier, I don’t have it exactly how I want it right now. I’m looking to improve my Flickr features and I might have my header rotate images since I’m never satisfied with just one. So stay tuned, becuase I’m shooting for 100 posts this year (hey, that’s only twice a week) and I’m fired up for 2006.
